Ugh the VMA's

So I sat on my couch last night - Iphone in hand to watch the VMA's ready to tweet my heart out.  I was originally going to go to the awards but unforeseen circumstances kept me at home on the couch. 

Let me get the plusses out of the way before I say what I really thought of the show.  First thing - the VMA's were in BROOKLYN!!!!! That was great in itself.  The second plus was Justin's "concert".  He gave me all of my life in his segment.  While I agree that he didn't quite deserve an award named after Michael Jackson, he sure was going to get up there and earn his keep.  N'Sync was on point, and that performance was just about on the level of Beyoncé's Superbowl performance - and it saved the VMA's - from Miley Cyrus.

I don't know who keeps telling Miley what she is doing is okay.  I never thought her twerk-tivities were cute at all.  My biggest question is why didn't mister camera-man cut to Paula Patton when Miley was grabbing Robin Thicke's man meat.  All of these reports that Paula Patton was okay with that performance, I think is a big fat lie.   All I could think is "This is gross" and "Paula is waiting for Miley back stage" (I actually tweeted that one).

Lil Kim looked like a Muppet baby, ASAP Rocky looked like a waiter, and by the time I got to Katy Perry, I was so mentally exhausted with how bad the VMA's were this year, that I couldn't even pay attention.

I don't understand what Lady Gaga was doing, and why she was a mermaid, but it's Lady Gaga.  I had to repent to Jesus after Kanye's performance because I cringe every time I hear Yeezus.

Maybe they will do better next year.

Raz B Stunts

When all seemed quiet -former B2K member Raz B "allegedly"  found himself in a coma after a jumping into a fight and getting hit with a Bottle in China.  Not even a week later - he was up responsive and smiling.

I don't know about this story.  I know that TMZ is reporting it - something just doesn't sound right...

Kendrick Lamar is Taking Names

So Lil Kenny Lamar got him some Erykah Badu poom-poom in his life and got extremely confident - so confident that he was coming for the necks of other rappers naming names in Big Sean's 7 minute track "Control".

Having been named the Best MC of 2012 - Lamar is Coming for his seat on the throne of this generation's rappers.

“I’m usually homeboys with the same n****s i’m rhymin wit/But this is hip hop and them n****s should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron‘, Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n****s/Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n****s.”
He also has a verse that says: “I’m Machiavelli’s offspring, I’m the king of New York/King of the Coast, one hand, I juggle them both.”

No one seemed really in a tizzy other than FABOLOUS.   I think that the old heads are either laughing or going to take the child to school - I'm just waiting for the response.

Saint Nas

It's no secret that in my mind, rapper Nas and I are soulmates destined to be - being that we are both from Queens.  My favorite artist made headlines across the internet and television by starting a fundraiser to help out Stanley Young, who is a single father of 8. 

ABC 7 News is reporting that Nas started a fundraiser page to help the family of 9, whom just lost their home in a fire and now has to vacate their home in just a few short days.  The children's mother passed away just a year ago.

The Chocolate King of Queens has already raised almost $50K.  He wrote "I am also a single father, and we don't get enough credit in this country....I believe and hope that we should all, as a community, come together to help our fellow American men and women when they need us in desperate situations like this.

The BeyHive is headed to the Salon in Droves

Lady Bey popped up on Instagram last night giving us neck and jawline for days.  Possibly inspired by her last fan fiasco, Beyoncé chopped off all her hair and revealed a cute new 'do. 

I think it's cute and I am curious to see what kinds of new styles are going to pop up for her short new cut.  I do expect many copy cats (a la Keyshia Cole).  I also expect mommy and baby hair styles between her and Lil Ms Blue.
